Hands-on Research paper Boot camp using Mendeley by Department of Mechanical Engineering




The department of mechanical engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management  conducted "Hands-on  Research paper Boot camp using Mendeley '' for final year mechanical students on 11th Dec 2021, 8:30 AM to 1:00PM at CIM lab.
The objective of this workshop was to make students conduct and disseminate their innovative research using publications as the tool. In this boot camp, reference manager -Mendeley from Elsevier was used. Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti ,HoD-Department of Mechanical Engineering  trained the students on using Mendeley  software  to collate information and write research papers.
In the second session , Dr. Harsha Kumar  trained the students on how to read a research paper and the generic structure of a research paper. This was followed by  Faculty project coordinator -Mr. Suhas who explained how research papers are now part of the final year project assessment .

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering Students visited Lamina Foundry Limited, NITTE. The students of 3 rd Semester Mechanical Engineering program visited Lamina Foundries Limited. The visit enabled the students to gain fundamentals of casting techniques like melting, pattern making, core making, casting, machining, quality, painting and packaging and also helped them to understand industrial practices.
